Advice for building a wireless temperature sensor as small as possible?

I would like to be able to integrate sensors (or PWM signal) into a mini wireless package, however my technical background is not ECE/IoT...

I thought a temperature sensor, like shown in this video (link), would be the simplest starting point. My main goal would be to scale things down as small as possible (e.g. 2x1cm). I only need operation for something like 24-36 hours and I have a few hundred bucks I can spend on redundant components, trying multiple things out, etc. The less code the better.

Thank you in advance! I'm grateful for any help I can get.

Some chips/microcontroller I was looking at...
