Hello!
I am not really familiar with all teh IoT stuff, so I need some help from more experienced redditors!
I am currently renovation my future apartment, and in the next 2-3 moths I will receive new windows and roller shutters. The shutters will already be controlled by switch, but I would like to upgrade it to the next level and control it with the phone.
I already did some research, but couldn't find the best answer..
- Probably the easiest way would be to get some "smart switches" (like Ewelink), which already have an existing mobile app, so I would only need to pair the switch with the app and I would be able to control it. But I have two things which are bothering me...
- The "module" looks pretty big, idk how would it be to inserting it inside the wall..?
- Will I be able to access the module without destroying half of the wall? (in case i need to replace it, or pair again?)
- I could buy some other controllers (not some fancy "smart" shit), and develop a custom app for my shutters (I had some experience with mobile dev, so that souldn't be much of a problem)
- Is this a good idea?
- Which controllers do I need? Can I connect them with self-made mobile app?
- Will I be able to access the module without destroying half of the wall? (in case i need to replace it, or pair again?)
Any advice/help will be hight apprecieted! Thanks!
