Narcissism culture

I was born and raised in the U.S. culture but have a lot of family from another country and spent a lot of time there. I’ve been noticing more and more how so much in the U.S. culture promotes narcissism. It isn’t just giving awards for just showing up but things like being at every single one of your kids games (aka constantly having an audience). I read that this wasn’t a thing in the past and I assume isn’t common in all countries.

Another thing is the constant photos mothers are taking of their kids now. I can’t imagine its healthy to have your picture taken every literal day of your life.

Do you notice a cultural transition into promoting narcissism in your own culture and what other ways have you seen it in the U.S.?
