Which is better solution?

Hi guys, I'm starting on IoT Topics because to be honest looks like more fun than Webapps (I'm currently working as developer of webapps)

So, I started to playing with a Teltonika device (FMU130), it's a GPS tracker but I connected a sensor of temperature. This device can send data over TCP/IP and MQTT protocol (only if update the firmware).

So, I was thinking in data flow like this, Teltonika > AWS IoT > InfluxDB > Grafana but is a little complex for me and configurator. But I found the service flespi.io but I cannot connect the data to Grafana to see the data.

Finally, Im a little confused because I don't know what is the best solution and if exist another good solution. I just need advices of you, always be helpful for me.

Thank you in advance. (Excuse me, I'm not native speaker)

IoT simulation for a total beginner?

Hello everyone,

I'm a PhD student and my research is about a combination of IoT, Crowdsourcing and Circular Economy. So I'll have to design architectures and test them through simulations etc. Problem is I never used simulations before and I don't know a thing about them. Can you please share some guidance on the matter? What kind of software and programming languages should I use?

Thank you in advance!

Best cloud for makers? AWS, Azure, or other?

Hello! I'm getting into Arduino device around the house: cat litter monitor, septic alarm monitor, garage door monitor, etc. I'm using IFTTT right now which is pretty good but I'd like to get a little more complicated. I'm starting to have a lot of data that I would like to send to the cloud, e.g. a graph of how many times kitty has peed lately. :)

I have an Azure background and I've gotten data into Azure, but running into trouble getting my events sent through event hubs into useful services. Honestly I'm a bit frustrated by it right now! Is AWS better? I'm looking for ease of use on the IoT side and the consumption side, but also the ability to do cool and interesting things with data. What cloud would you suggest?

Remote support?

Not sure if this s the right area to ask this kind of question, but here goes nothing.

I have several devices across networks, some networks I control and others I don't. I have been trying to come up with some method of remote support for these devices. Part of the code I have running on these already does things like tell health of the device, and reports if its online, but there may be a situation outside of complete failure that requires access to these devices.

I won't have someone on site to initiate these connections, so some traditional support tool like teamviewer or logmein isn't quite ideal.

I'm really unsure on where to go since it seems like there isn't a clear solution that doesn't pose a large set of security concerns.

Is Samsara a big deal in enterprise IoT?

The big IoT company Samsara IPO'd recently, so it got me thinking about the space as a whole. I haven't interacted with Samsara so I'm kinda curious how many people here have interacted with them and how big they are in the space?
