Evaluation

Describe how process, impact, and outcome evaluation can be used

The evaluation process provides effective and efficient methods of dealing and combating tobacco epidemic. The process shall enhance implementation of comprehensive as well as a continuous control strategy. The evaluation process shall provide alternative procedures as well as ideas in preventing people from tobacco consumption.  The evaluation shall be used in promoting cessation. It shall be used in preventing non-smokers from extreme exposure to tobacco smoking. The analysis, as well as evaluation techniques, shall be applied in regulating and controlling the distribution of tobacco products. The supportive teams within the program shall include healthcare specialists such as physicians, nurses, community health care providers, midwives, dentists, psychologists, counselors, psychiatrists, pharmacists, chiropractors as well as other healthcare-related professionals (World Health Organization, 2005).

The responsibilities, roles, duties, and activities of the healthcare experts can provide effective measures and awareness campaigns that promote tobacco lifestyles and cultures. The main techniques applied shall include providing professional healthcare services such as treatments and drugs against addiction of tobacco. The session shall involve activities such as helping people with giving guidance on how to quit or cease use of tobacco and its products. They shall provide answers to questions related to tobacco consumption as well as its health effects. The evaluations process shall be used to create links and references to the social media to expand impact awareness across the internet. Seminars, training, and workshops shall be applied as for educating the public. Results of the evaluation shall be applied for facilitating the process of making policies. The analysis and reports provided by the teams involved shall be applied as a major trigger to create an impact on national and international levels that guarantee associations for influencing policies as well as changes for better tobacco control (World Health Organization, 2005).

Develop an evaluation design for the program you are planning

The evaluation design implemented will include incorporating multiple tobacco control efforts from various individuals such as national, state, and district-based community healthcare personnel. Various accountability processes shall be incorporated to facilitate the involvement of government procedures fully. Involving government health procedures shall facilitate the effective and efficient creation of awareness campaigns. The group of government and health care personnel shall be expected to create awareness to the society through public seminars, training, and workshops. Multispectral and multi-professional teams shall be involved in the tobacco control program. Various ministries shall take the lead in working against tobacco consumption. Among ministries involved shall include finance, trade, foreign affairs, justice interior, customs and education (Henderson, Nunez-Rodriguez, & Casari, 2011).  Other sectors that shall provide support in the program include non-government agencies professional associations, as well as other organizations.

Explain why you selected this design and listed the strengths and weaknesses of the design

The design shall ensure effective and efficient reduction of tobacco consumption. The major advantage of the approach is that:

  1. Individuals affected by tobacco consumption shall be provided with special care and treatments to support their health and wealth status (World Health Organization, 2005).
  2. Another benefit of the selected design is to ensure health professionals in tobacco control provides education, knowledge, communication methods, training, and public awareness on effects  of  tobacco using examples (World Health Organization, 2005)

Some of the problems associated with the tobacco banning campaigns include

  1. Lack of experts having enough knowledge and skills about tobacco as well as tobacco control. The program may lack required and appropriate individuals with content as well as practices on tobacco aspects of harms. It is also a weakness that the breadth and depth of the problem that occurs as a result of tobacco consumption might not be effectively covered (Herbert, & Lohrmann, 2011).
  2. Another weakness is a lack of proper and effective organizational leadership. Many organizations including non-government organizations have little or no emphasis on tobacco control efforts. As a result, many international organizations are slow in responding and taking action when cases involving tobacco consumption and its consequences arises (Herbert, & Lohrmann, 2011).
  3. Another weakness is that most of the professionals use tobacco products. Some health sector professionals are addicted to the usage of tobacco making them have little or no contribution towards efforts of controlling tobacco use (Herbert, & Lohrmann, 2011).

Identify how you will disseminate information regarding the outcomes of your program

One of the methods applied includes disseminating the results of the surveys, evaluation reports and other healthcare concerns about tobacco consumption and control measures to the members. Another procedure involves setting anti-tobacco groups, clubs, and associations of various institutions. The members of various groups, clubs, and associations shall be involved in setting and passing resolutions within membership meetings, producing articles on different techniques of tobacco control, and making information reach other areas and location within required time. Have a dedicated expert in journalism for capturing and airing tobacco issues and promoting regular inclusion of tobacco control forums in the news as well as other programs (Herbert, & Lohrmann, 2011). Use other technological support mediums such as social media, instant messaging, and anther internet forums to maintain the distribution of news and awareness about tobacco.
