I'm running VMware Workstation on my desktop. Part of what I'm running is a lab. Since it's a lab what I'd like to do is somehow segment VMware Workstation from all of my remaining programs and OS, or simply put the other virtual machines on a different network. My ISP has given me 5 static IP addresses to use. Does anyone know if it's possible to do what I want? For example, can I put an additional network adapter in my computer and tell the NICs on the VMs to run from that? If so, how would I set that up? Would I need to set up an additional static IP in the routing table? I'm a little lost on how to go about this. Can anyone help explain it to me? Maybe there is a good article or something someone knows about to show me how I can do this? Since this is a lab it will be experimental and I don't want it to affect my primary system. I can't afford to buy a completely new computer to host this on, hence I'm trying to figure it out this way. Would appreciate any help. My router doesn't support VLANs FYI. Please be considerate if I have some lack of understanding or questions. Thank you.
