Training on the use of Tableau for BI

Based on the BI requirements discussed in the previous iterations, am focusing on acquiring technical skills, knowledge, and experience through training, workshops practical, and seminar meetings. I will meet Mr. Chan for introduction on how to use Tableau in constructing and maintaining and processing business reports that aid decision-making in business operations. I shall be required to use the system to generate reports based on codes and basic commands. Training shall take two days.
I shall also meet Miss. Trane to facilitate a workshop practical based on how to conduct data and information analysis using Tableau. The task involved shall include collecting data and information from different online platforms. Analysis computed shall include navigating different web interfaces using World Wide Web. I shall be required to familiarize with various platforms applied in collecting data and information that aid informed decision making. Workshop training shall take three days.
During the second week, I shall meet Mrs. Brown for a seminar involving training on how to interpret data and information collected. The session shall involve training on how to analyze data. Techniques used to present analyzed information to all individuals and major decision makers within the organization. The session shall involve analyzing different methodologies implemented by users while presenting a different type of information. The session shall take three days.
The final session shall cover materials and technologies applied in BI systems for facilitating data and information visualization. The session shall determine various schemes and areas where analyzed data and information is applied in business operations. Researchers shall be required to understand various applications of computed information in facilitating decision-making within the business. I shall review the advantages of analyzed knowledge and machine learning operations to understand all required decisions in decision-making.
I meet Mr. Chan an expert in business intelligence with Tableau machine learning. Through his intervention, I was capable of using BI systems to generate reports. I was capable of utilizing database queries in cubes and scorecards to derive information related to sales and marketing. I was trained on how to use Tableau key works in requesting detailed analysis. Among generated reports included the performance of specific products, services, and utilities. BI systems compare data based on the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly analysis. Users can generate Sales, finance, as well as customer trends reports depending on the time required (F. G. Chan, personal communication, February 25, 2017).
I took part in workshop training that involving techniques for conducting data and information analysis. Miss. Trane reviewed major sources of business data and information that can guide and lead to important data within the business. One of the major sources of corresponding data and information is obtained from social media. The process of analyzing data involves comparing the behavior of customers over a given period. Some behavior by BI systems includes buying trends, socials media comments, likes and customer references (A. K. Trane, personal communication, February 28, 2017). The system provided a particular product current and future analysis. It provided information based on current, expected and future demands.
The session on interpreting collected data and information involved passing using data analysis tools and software such as Tableau. The tool helped in obtaining knowledge from data by performing data and information profiling to understand specific target group, different business partners and potential customers likely to have business interests. The systems provided a graphical representation of data based on different domains. Interpreting data and information involves classifying reports in detailed format by defining quantity, age, locations, type, item, among other attributes based on Genre (P. J. Brown, personal communication, March 02, 2017).
The session involving training on how to use BI systems to conduct analysis led to the evaluation of structured to unstructured data and information. BI systems that implement Tableau tools collects data and information from extremely large sample sets. Through machine learning operations I was able to view methods of determining methods of obtaining cross reference and relationships that compare other large data sets to define patterns, trends, and behavior that can facilitate decision making. The patterns revealed by BI contain critical business knowledge that allows decision makers to optimize business processes especially those that has cross department lines (F. G. Chan, personal communication, March 03, 2017). I observed that knowledge obtained from BI systems is useful in various departments such as Sales and Marketing, Finance, Product Development, Manufacturing, and Logistics. Using data and information analyzing tools one could potentially benefit from information that reveals the larger framed picture or hidden patterns (P. J. Brown, personal communication, March 05, 2017).
The most relevant design that leads to the implementation of BI systems includes the presence of data warehouses for storing metadata. The training on how to gather data and information equipped me with knowledge on how to perform data mining processes. It Enhanced the provision of a clear understanding of the data and information that could guide analysts on detailed operations on gathering relationships, trends, patterns, and future expectations., I observed that Tableau could connect to any data source. Among the connected sources included corporate data warehouse, Microsoft Excel, and web-based data. The analysis process and data mining provide immediate resorts. Tableau dashboards facilitated the quick transformation of data into beautiful, interactive reports with visual graphics.
The session guided by Mr. Chan, Miss. Trane and Mrs. Brown went well. Through the session instructed by Mr. Chan, I successfully covered new areas in BI accomplished by Tableau tool. The Tableau training facilitated clear understanding on concepts of data visualization. Through the training, I have acquired skills to work with Tableau architecture such as filters, assigning data mining parameters, and using graphs to present analyzed data and information. The training covered utilization of maps and activities involving table calculation to predict relationships and trends within business transactions. BI systems analysts acquired important tools on effective use of dashboards, which reveals results about Key Performance Indicators (KPI) (A. K. Trane, personal communication, March 08, 2017). The practical workshop sessions covered techniques applied in presenting business information based on data and information obtained from blending data and information, aggregation of data and information and establishing R Connectivity with Tableau
The training facilitated by Mrs. Brown involved understanding Tableau desktop architecture and based on how to use Tableau in real life business operations. The various architectures reviewed included Tableau statistics as well as Tableau interactive dashboard. The session m has equipped me with skills required in presenting and designing master Tableau reporting and presenting operations using graphs, maps, and, Tabular Calculation. BI analysts should have the ability to simplify and organize data and information through implementation of data connections such as Tableau master special field types as well as Tableau generated fields (P. J. Brown, personal communication, March 09, 2017). Among the achieved skills included learning to implement data and information aggregation as well as data and information blending using tableau. I have gained knowledge on R Connectivity with Tableau and using R scripts in Tableau to perform real-time analytics.
Iteration 4: Creating a Resume
The session will involve finding out the format of designing a detailed resume. I shall research on various contents, features, and attributes of a resume. The requirement of this session is coming up with the appropriate appearance of a resume. The research operation includes searching from web portals and other online interfaces. The second task shall include defining major sessions on a resume. The session shall define introduction of analyst resume. I shall define how to write summary statements and entire outline of the resume. The session shall take two days. During resume analysis, I shall have a meeting with Mr. Van, the career guidance, and counseling officer. I shall inquire more about the format, design, and structure. I shall be required to learn about various forms of presenting a resume as well as when appropriate to write a resume. The expectation in the session is to get training on how to write a resume in correct and acceptable format. The meeting session shall take three days.
During the second week, I shall have a session with Miss. Rebecca, the head of human resources and social affairs. Miss. Rebecca shall be required to provide instructions involving writing cover letter document based on a particular job. I shall be required to understand the significance of cover letter, format as well as how to design it. The task operations covered shall include defining other documents that should be attached to a resume. The session shall analyze order of attaching the documents and their importance. The final session shall involve preparing for oral presentation and interview sessions that are involved during acquisition of job. Attributes covered include understanding appropriate communication skills required in answering interview questions.
I took part in searching across different domains with a purpose of getting actual format and contents of a resume. According to data and information obtained from, an analyst resume should have various details including personal details, education background, career history and work experiences, acquired skills, hobbies, rewards and certificates, personal interests as well as the referee. Through the session introduced by Mr.Van, I realized that a resume is a detailed information involving brief information about

  1. Analyst Introduction and summary of statement
  2. Analyst education section
  3. Writing analyst’s work experience
  4. Include analyst’s acquired skills
  5. Include analyst’s achievements, awards, certifications, and workshops
  6. Finally, it should have referees
According to Rebecca resume should also have a brief letterhead, which comprises a request for a job opportunity. An application letter should be written as a cover to communicate the major interest of writer (R. T. Rebecca, personal communication, March 13, 2017). Other documents that are necessary within resume include identity and certifications. According to Rebecca, job applicants should attach their identifications to easily locate them as well as identify their location, nationalities, gender and main reason is to prove their loyalty of physical address. The certification documents attached are meant to provide evidence that applicant has achieved a particular level of education related to the field of interest (R. T. Rebecca, personal communication, March 14, 2017).
After inquiries about resume, next task is usually preparation for an interview session. The interview usually calls for applicant’s assessment through oral terms to verify and validate that the applicant is qualified to fill a particular job position. Audible communication, as well as clear and precise statements, is provided. Brief statements eliminate errors (R. T. Rebecca, personal communication, March 15, 2017).
I observed that a resume is a document that communicates on behaves off the applicant with the intention of informing the recipient about qualifications associated with targeted career. The content of a resume is usually universal in nature with most of the resumes having a standard format. The resume should be straight forward with minimal or no errors (Will & Stanton, 2014). The resume should only contain details of high value that are interesting within the field of interest. Only include skills, expertise, and knowledge gained in the different working environment (A. K. Van, personal communication, March 17, 2017). According to analyzed samples, a Resume or CV should cover the content of above one page. A well-detailed CV can go up to three pages. Applicants should use same font and font size. One should avoid using bold italics (Immigrant spirit. com, 2013).
Personal details are much helpful for keeping contacts in case of future considerations and remembering. It is recommended to include a professional headshot or a passport size photo. Personal details should include only essential and important information such as. Personal full names, working phone or an active mobile number, personal email address, contact address including code, nationality, age as well as marital status. One should avoid sharing photos in nasty places such as bars, beaches, among other places both personal and family snaps. Information that can create social differences such as religious information, tribe among others should be strongly avoided. Details such as careers one should ensure a particular order is implemented. It is highly recommended that one should start with the most recent job first (Immigrant spirit. com, 2013). Always include the name of Employee Company, date, month and years within job session.
The session equipped me with relevant information based on resume writing. Wide coverage of resume structure and design has equipped me with appropriate skills demanded in acquiring career opportunities. According to Rebecca most appropriate success factor in the preparation of acquiring a job is the first impression, which usually starts with personal expression through written CV. Etiquette is important and vital. One should always speak truth based on areas of specialization. Applicants are not allowed to lie in a resume (A. K. Van, personal communication, March 19, 2017). Precise and clear places of work should be indicated. Working positions, as well as advancement in areas of specialization, should be upgraded from one level to another. Transparency is important while writing a resume (Piyanka, 2015). For example, an applicant must indicate clearly reasons for changing from one career to another. In case one changed form one company to another reason for leaving previous company should be indicated.
The academic certificates attached should reflect clear performance, grade attained or an achievement made (Bell, & Fox, 1990). Similarly, education background session in the resume must indicate various institutions of learning attended and their corresponding achievements. Always state the final grade, points, grade or percentage (Bell, & Fox, 1990). Honesty in delivering information is highly regarded one should always give information that can be proved by a document from an institute of learning. Any relevant study in progress should be indicated. Another significant document is a cover letter that indicates a request for an opportunity in the field of career applied. It should be brief and less that one page (Bell, & Fox, 1990). Must be an official letter with the address of applicant and company where the letter is being addressed.
