I'm new to the IoT world and am working on a school project where I've been tasked with using a RPi4 as a Gateway to support, among other protocols, ZigBee. The lab I am working in would like to use an XBee ZigBee S2C module as a means of connecting off-the-shelf ZigBee Home Automation sensors with the gateway.

My question: is this feasible and has anyone successfully implemented this? It appears many have used Home Assistant with XBee or zigbee2mqtt and a supported adapter to accomplish this.
