any way to avoid the Android app for “EMW303WF-A” REV Link2Home wifi-outlet?

<***>

Hi, I got a 9€ wifi-outlet from REV:

Did anyone already reverse-engineer their protocol? I hate that the thing has to use a WAN-connection and the companies servers. The revision 1.0 was said to have a ESP8266 inside, sadly this one doesn’t seem to:

The Wifi-board states “-LPT120A.pdf)”: https://www.mev-elektronik.com/files/MEV%20Elektronik%20Service/produkt-downloads/rf-microwave-wireless/HF-LPT120&HF-LPT120A%20User%20Manual-V1.6(20161221).pdf.pdf)

I haven’t tried to decompile their android-app yet, though the traffic was TLS and mitmproxy wasn’t able to decrypt it as far as I could see it. Perhaps somebody else had more luck already?

Cheers!
